Out Malware Tool is a Sandbox used for testing suspicious software (binaries) in a controlled environment. Wikipedia refers to sandbox as "a security mechanism for separating running programs. Some Sandboxes are used to execute untested code, or un-trusted programs from unverified third-parties, suppliers and un-trusted users." Our malware tool is designed to conduct malware analysis on the subject submitted.
NSI's malware tool does not test your binary sample in a Virtual environment as some sandboxes do because we have found that some malware is VM aware, and therefore does not execute as it otherwise would. We will give you our malware analysis results of what the malware would do on a normal Windows XP system. Currently we are only testing in this environment, check back; in the future we will add other OS's as we increase capability.
